So thoughts become things....?

I have been reading some Mike Dooley for a while. He says thoughts become things...... so pick good ones!

From what I understand at the moment ...... thoughts create feelings, feelings create our decisions & experiences, which then create more thoughts to which we attach more feelings. And take more actions based on these.

They can become entrenched beliefs, though they don't always work in our favour. Such as thinking you're not good enough. Can you feel your brow furrowing, shoulders tensing?

It's quite easy to change the way you feel about something by changing your thoughts about it. Looking at it a different way, finding new understanding. And your body responds alike, just try thinking about sooking a lemon to see your body's response! Or other pleasant things....

So if you're more relaxed, it's easier to find better perspectives, solutions, ideas, get creative. Get happier and enjoy life. That's the point really. Loving life. We might not manage it every moment but keep bringing yourself back to it in a way that works for you. Consistently rearrange your thoughts, don't buy into those which bring you down nor be fearful of them. Our ancestors got us here by being constantly on the alert for proverbial tigers in the bushes, this fear is here to keep us safe, but if you're feeling unsafe and there's no real threat to survival, please reassure yourself, give yourself a hug (tip I learned from my lovely friend who was teaching me to dive years ago & now a GP - you'd want her as yours!) and be gentle with yourself.

Barefoot Doctor advises saying, "I trust myself, I trust myself, I trust myself......" 9 times and it actually begins to build new neural pathways in the brain. I like that. That helps your brain pick more positive thoughts then. It's like water flowing, it'll pick the most established pathways. Help your mind chatter by building good ones within you.

I love Reiki to help with this stuff. Here's an article on how Reiki can help depression (though it's not the only thing and if you're really struggling, get some further help, you're not on your own), but even if you feel just a bit off, not quite yourself it's a beautiful way to bring you back to your centre, feel grounded, balanced and connected again. Off to do some now!!
